Plump Djs have been with us from the start, representing pretty strongly in our early sets, then we drifted a bit, but now we're teaming up a little more. These guys manage to 'bring the funk' to many of their tunes whilst also producing some crazy sounds to beef up their production. SAMPLE MONDAY: The Grey Album (Jay-Z vs The Beatles)

For all of you who were asleep or in primary school when this went down, a producer by the name of Dangermouse put together a mashup album a little while ago (2004 to be exact) where he took the acapellas (vocals) from Jay Z's Black Album and created a bunch of remixes using the Beatles White Album as samples. SAMPLE MONDAY: Goyte v Luiz Bonfa

We all know the tune, here's one of the pieces to the puzzle. We remember hearing an interview on Triple J where Goyte was very open about the fact many of his songs are strongly sample based. Feel free to try and dissect another one of his tunes!

TEN Classic Beat (Apache) Edition

This week we've made one of the most recognisable drum beats the back bone to the mix. The Classic beat comes from the tune Apache by Michael Viner's Incredible Bongo Band. Producers have been slotting this beat into songs from 1981 to 2012, check the tracklist and get downloading.
